Project

Rediscover

2022

Project Rediscover 2022, explores the diverse heritage and culture of Kampong Gelam.  A project by Lasalle College of the Arts' BA(Hons) Arts Management students with support from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) - to uncover historical and contemporary stories of heritage districts.

In 2022's edition, students hopes to bring light refreshing and creative stories through Instagram and TikTok. Audiences are also encouraged to go on adventure with a real-life bingo inspired experience.

I was assigned to be part of the social media team, specifically, TikTok in this project. Where I was given the opportunity to come up with creative content, liaise with stakeholders and external partners.

Working with URA as a client, gave me an opportunity to get to know them. But also gave me an experience on how working with a government sector is.

The project has helped me experience what it is like to be an arts manager where you have to be a middle person between the client and the event.. During this project, I was also able to use my communications and team work skills and how both of these skills are so essential in the works of an arts manager.

VERVE ARTS

FESTIVAL

Verve Arts Festival is an annual multi-disciplinary art event that is organized as Arts Business Management Year 2 students. The theme that year was "Rasa Sayang: Feeling the Love".

18 December 2018

I was assigned to be part of the publicity team which consists of 9 members during the planning process. I got to be involved in the marketing team with 3 other members, we had to come up with the design of Verve's Instagram posts, the designing the photobooth's templates and also helping with marketing the events on social media.

What I learned was that, since I was very much involved in helping to market the event on social media, especially Instagram. That social media marketing does actually make a difference in these events. As social media marketing can help in targetting a wider range of audiences.

One challenge was that as part of the marketing team, it was hard to get Instagram posts out on time. As a team, we did come up with a proposed schedule of what should be posted when and the captions. But there were times where we lost track of time and ended up posting it late. Which affected our other scheduled posts. Hence, we decided to make such everyone check the proposed schedule daily making sure to remind one another that we are supposed to put up a post today.

HEARTLAND HEROES

It was for my Final Year Project. "HEARTLAND HEROES" was an event organised for the Migrant Workers in Singapore. The aim of the event was to spread awareness of the Migrant Workers in Singapore and to create integration with the Youth in Singapore.

12 February 2017

I was assigned as the assistant leader for my final year project. It was my first time taking on a leadership role in projects as i have a fear of not leading well. But through this project, it has shown me that it is not only the leader's job to make everyone do work. But is is everyone task to help one another. This project has really helped me a lot, being able to communicate with different partners for the event.

RUNAWAY

"RUNAWAY" was an escape room theme event. The aim of the event was to create a first time experience for participants to enjoy the escape room with a touch of crime scene incorporated into it.

18 December 2015

Being assigned the role of an administrative member, I had to be in charge of coming up with the name list of participants that sign up. Collecting registration fees from them. I was in charge of the participants' welfare on the event day. It was not an easy role as I had to communicate with about 40 participants and 4 other of my group members at the same time.
